To me, the bedding in your bedrooms (especially the master), is one of the most important things. In my opinion it can really make or break a room. Not only can the look set the mood or tone of the room but the feel of the linens is just as important.
I love nothing more than spending time in our bed, especially in the mornings. One of the things that my husband and I do just about every single morning is have our morning coffee together and often breakfast in bed. No, not every morning breakfast in bed is served on a tray, majority of the time it is something as simple as a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee. Regardless of what we are ‘pairing with our coffee’, I love how comfortable our bed is.
When we moved into our house last fall we were temporarily living upstairs while the renovations were being done. Of course bedding comfort was key but looks were not important to me, since I knew it was temporary. I knew that when we FINALLY got to move downstairs (6 months later), that the look of our bedding would be just as important as comfort. Glass half full of phase 1 of the renovations taking MUCH longer than they should have was that we had time to find the perfect bedding for our master bedroom.
Bedding has been something that has always been so intimidating to me because I really never knew where to start. There are so many options, styles, thread counts…you get it, it’s overwhelming. I knew that I wanted all white but that was about it. When I was at dinner with a friend we were discussing bedding (true life) and she has mentioned that she had invested in her Matouk bedding linens years ago and is still not disappointed.
When she said Matouk my ears perked up because she is not the first friend who has said that their bedding was a dream. After dinner, I headed straight home and got on the Matouk website and browsed until I couldn’t see straight. So many options and even though I loved every single one of them, when I saw the Sierra Hemstitch I knew that it would be perfect for our new space. The Matouk Sierra Hemstitch was everything that I wanted out of bedding. It was white, it had simple detailing, and it had the option to add a monogram.
Needless to say when the Matouk bedding arrived it was more than a dream. It was like sleeping on the most perfect white cloud. The most perfect white fluffy cloud that makes me want to have breakfast in bed with my Matouk bedding every single day…and then never get up. Oh, and the puppies love the Matouk linens just as much as my husband…that’s how you know it really is amazing.
