All my life, I have loved to shop online and, of course, in stores. I cannot even (or don’t want to) tally up the number of hours I have spent browsing my favorites stores aimlessly. I love seeing all of the new styles, trying on things that I want, and just enjoying the entire shopping experience.
Since I found out I was pregnant last November, the idea and even the thought of shopping sounds so exhausting. Not because I don’t like it but because my body is continually changing, and I am not sure what will fit week to week. I actually had a conversation with my husband a month ago about how I wished that someone could just shop for me and tell me what will look OK while I am figuring out how to style my new baby bump.
Oftentimes, I swear the internet is listening because I kid you not, just a day later I got an email from the team at Stitch Fix telling me about their personal styling services. Coincidence? Maybe. Convenient? HECK yes.
After responding (and agreeing to move forward with the personal styling services), I filled out a style profile. It took about three minutes from start to finish and covered all of the fashion bases, addressing everything from how I describe my personal style to requesting links to my Pinterest and Instagram pages. After that step, my assigned personal stylist sent an email confirming my style and I kid you not, two days later I got a box in the mail filled with things that suited me. Everything from this Sam Edelman bag to this Joie blouse and even my very first pair of maternity jeans (!!)! So many pretties in the box. They even included a “style guide” to show me how to mix and match all the pieces they sent while incorporating things I might currently have in my closet.
The coolest part about Stitch Fix is that over time, the stylists learn what you like and send you clothes you love. Plus, returns are SUPEReasy. All you do is place the pieces you don’t care for back in the box, slap the prepaid return label on the box, and drop it at the USPS. You can actually get your (stitch) Fix anytime you want. You can have a box sent on the regular or if you are a more on-demand shopper, they will cater to that preference as well. Most importantly, they are SO good about sticking within your budget, which for someone who doesn’t want to break the bank on maternity clothes is so perfect!
As a first-time Stich Fix user I cannot express to you all how happy I was with the results, and I know this will be just the thing to help guide me through some styling decisions during pregnancy and of course postpregnancy!
