Memorial Day Dressing

Memorial Day is one of my favorite holidays. We never really have big plans but I love it because it is a slow weekend and really ‘kicks off’ the summer. Of course I love a relaxing long weekend but I also love Memorial Day (and really all summer) styling. For me, summer and Memorial Day style is about as all American as it gets and when it comes to where I shop for these looks, it’s always Polo Ralph Lauren. It’s all about the all white, my favorite combination of blue and white and of course all things nautical. The best part about all of these Polo Ralph Lauren pieces is that I can mix and match them all summer long (just wait until you see next weeks post).

For my all American look with Polo Ralph Lauren I decided to start with the basics….the polo shirt. This Polo shirt has been in my wardrobe in some form or fashion for YEARS and I loved styling this white Polo Ralph Lauren polo with with linen shorts, the coziest cardigan and these mules (you can see them also styled in this post).

I know you’re probably thinking why would one need this Polo Ralph Lauren cardigan, especially since I live in Texas but the beauty of this cardigan is that not only can I layer it (I am always cold) but I also have a few trips this summer to the north west where temperatures are much cooler at night, so it will be the perfect summer cardigan to wear!

I love this Polo Ralph Lauren look with or without the cardigan because to me it screams all American Memorial day dressing and that is exactly what I was going for!
