I often get e-mails from people who are traveling to Dallas asking me where they should stay and my first response is always The Mansion on Turtle Creek. Located in the heart of Turtle Creek, not only is this hotel a Dallas staple it is one of my all time favorite places. Known for it’s beauty and old world charm ironically enough, The Mansion on Turtle Creek was originally a private residence. Built in 1908, rebuilt in 1923 (fire took it down), in 1980 the home was purchased and converted into The Mansion Restaurant and then in 1981 the nine story hotel was added on and opened. Pretty amazing right? Whoah history.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I love (and visit) The Mansion on Turtle Creek. You can probably find us somewhere in the restaurant/hotel/bar at least once a week.We have been frequenting the hotel ever since we got married a few years ago and I don’t see us stopping this oh so amazing habit. Honestly, we just love everything about it. The atmosphere is really what makes it. We love the live music in The Mansion Bar on the weekend nights, sitting on the terrace sipping on cherry cobblers (my favorite) while he smokes cigars or dining at the well known Mansion Restaurant (Excutive Chef Bruno Davaillon is a genius).
Oh, and don’t even get me started on how perfect The Mansion on Turtle Creek hotel is. We stayed there (for the first time) labor day weekend and had an absolute blast, our puppies, Banks & Harry, loved it just as much as we did. We lounged by the pool, ordered room service, dined at The Mansion Restaurant (the tasting menu is a must) and of course sat on The Mansion Terrace under the stars. Not sure when my next stay cation at The Mansion on Turtle Creek will be but I do know that we will be enjoying this beautiful Dallas weather on the Mansion Terrace the next few weeks….then of course we will move inside when it cools down. Make sure to stop by The Mansion on Turtle Creek if you are visiting Dallas in the near future and if you are a Dallasite I recommend the live music on Friday nights in The Mansion Bar, it’s always a fun time.
