After coming off a whirl-wind of a holiday season I have learned 2 things. One: patience is a virtue; two: adult coloring books are my new best friend. You are probably wondering what on earth is an adult coloring book. Well, it literally is a coloring book for adults. Compiled of interesting patterns, shapes and designs; to me the adult coloring book is like a trip back in time (crayola anyone?).
When I was little enough to hold a crayon I used to love to color. My coloring book collection included everything from Barbie to The Little Mermaid and I remember loving to decided what ‘color’ the girls in my dream world would be wearing that day. Not sure why I ever put down my crayons/colored pencils but lately I have been hearing all about adult coloring books and what a stress reliever they are so I decided to get one for myself. Needless to say what I had been hearing was 100% accurate.
I love having a coloring book that allows me to escape from work and into a world of colored pencils and shapes. Now instead of scrolling through my phone while watching TV, I now pull out the coloring book and just color away. This may sound weird but I just feel better. I decided that taking it back to the basics sometimes is a great idea and with something as simple as an adult coloring book it makes it really fun. It’s the same thing as when we were little except, the lines are just a little skinnier this time.
