To say that we were frozen in New York is a bit of an understatement. Turns out last Friday was the coldest day the city has seen in 22 years. Ironic? Well yes, because the chilliest day happened to be our busiest.
The hubby and I started the coldest day off at the Mongol show at the tents. Following the show I swapped my Lublu Kira Plastina pantsuit for this Shoshanna dress and tights. I decided to save my arms from freezing even more and paired this blouse underneath. I love adding blouses underneath my favorite dresses during the colder months because it allows me to wear them all year long!
Once we got to Chelsea, we popped in the Kate Spade New York presentation (more on that show here). We ran into a ton of friends and of course saw all of the gorgeous designs. After the Kate Spade New York show we hopped in a car and headed to Tipsy Parson for lunch with Mackenzie, Chassity, Liz & Carly. That’s actually my second time to eat at the Tipsy Parson and I have to say it’s just as charming as the first time and the BLT was out of the world.
After lunch we headed to the design district to pop in the Shoshanna showroom and see their fall collection. Not only did we get to see the fall collection but we also saw their new evening collection and you guys, it’s AMAZING. I literally wanted everything, especially the dress that Shoshanna herself was wearing (I died). Funny enough the husband looked at me and said ‘is it weird that everything in here looks like it belongs in your closet’? No, not weird because I love everything that Shoshanna designs.
Post Shoshanna we snapped photos (the ones you just saw) and I am not lying when I say I have never been so cold. If you look closely you can really see how frozen I look because my lips have this weird purple tint. Told you…Frozen. After nearly freezing waiting on the car we headed to one last meeting and then back to the hotel we went.
We had plans Friday night but you know when you’re tired and you’re just going to close your eyes for a minute? Well, you know how the rest of our night went. One minute turned into 3 hours and then by that time we were hungry so we decided to make it a room service night. Perfection I tell you.
Well, that is last Friday in a freezing cold New York nutshell. Such a love hate relationship. I love New York, I know that every February it’s going to be freezing yet I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
