Today all of the madness began! The Mercedes Benz Fashion Shows officially kicked off! We arrived at the tents about 30 minutes before show time to be greeted by a swarm of street style photographers from ALL over the world. Not going to lie, it’s a pretty fun experience.
Glasses: Gucci, Coat: DVF, Bag: Chanel, Scarf: Hermes, Boots: Alberto Fermani, Lipstick: YSL
Walking into the tents for the first time is such an amazing experience. There is an energy like no other. The outfits are crazy and everyone is just taking pictures of each other…this is probably the only time it is appropriate to take a picture of a stranger without asking!
The first show we went to was BCBG, I was swooning over the amazing jackets the entire time! After the show we ran across the street to the Empire Hotel and had lunch, followed by the afternoon Tadashi show. This was also amazing and filled with velvet and primary colors…quite refreshing after all the neon we have seen this season (I am super obsessed with neon right now in case you didn’t know).
Post shows we decided to do a little shopping and headed over to Rachel Zoe’s favorite vintage store, Resurrection. Afterwards we shopped a little bit more and I found this amazing white skirt from TopShop.
Losing track of time, I headed back to the hotel, did a quick wardrobe change and then headed to the Diet Pepsi Style Studio party. Long story short, I got to hang out backstage with one of Dallas’ own designers, Shirin Asriki, admire the amazing set Jonathan Adler designed before the guests filled the room, chat with Simon Doonan (the curator for the evening) and just watch this entire evening unfold. The guest list included everyone from Mary-Kate Olsen, Jay Manuel, Kelly Rutherford, Kristen Chenoweth, Debra Messing..just to name a few.
Upon the conclusion of this event I jumped in a cab and headed over to meet one of my best friends for dinner at the loveliest restaurant in West Village, August. After much catching up, and a couple of glasses of wine we called it a night!
Needless to say, the second day was just as amazing as the first. I love NYC.
