Red is one of those colors that I have always loved (I get it from my mother). It is an effortless color that makes a statement without really trying. It is that color that you can just throw on and it either adds a pop to your ensemble or it is the pop. When I was a little girl my mom wore the most fabulous red dress to a gala. I remember the sweetheart neckline, the satin draping of the fabric and of course the fabulous (sparkly) chandelier earrings she paired with it. Ever since then I have known that I need to add a gorgeous red dress to my wardrobe. I found this dress a few months ago and the second I laid my eyes on it I knew it was coming home with me.
When wearing such a bold color (like this dress) I like to keep my accessories minimal (watch, simple necklace + rings are usually ‘go to’ items) and always pair with a nude heel (nude elongates the legs).
In order to dress down the look a bit, Sally added a fishtail braid to create a more casual vibe. Thinking I am going to either have to learn to braid my own hair or drive to her house before a night out! I have only gotten to wear this dress a couple times but I know it will be one of those pieces that I never part with.
