Halloween Ready

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. When I was younger my mom used to go above and beyond with everything from our (custom) costumes to the amount of candy and even the decor around the house.

Since this is our first halloween in our house (we moved in last November), I wanted to continue on the fun traditions that my mom started when I was little; plus we live in a neighbored hood that gets REALLY into Halloween and as the new kids on the block (literally), I wanted to make sure that we got into the spirit like everyone else. Last weekend I decided that I really needed to get inspired with our Halloween decor, so I went to Target. Target has always been my go-to destination for pretty much everything but this particular trip was Halloween focused. Thankfully, Target has the best selection of Halloween pieces. Literally everything on my list (candy, decor, costumes, cupcakes); I was able to check off by just popping into Target!

Besides dressing the puppies in various costumes throughout halloween (week), I love everything halloween. I love placing real, glittered and even plastic pumpkins all around our house! I think its a fun way to add a pop of color plus it really gets us into the halloween/fall mood. From the steps of our front porch to the table in the back, I have loved having these pumpkins from Target around the house.

I will say that when it comes to halloween decor I like traditional with a touch of scary. I added these gravestones with this little skeleton to the yard. I figure the combination of the carved pumpkins on the porch, and the Halloween wreath; the skeleton in the yard wouldn’t seem too scary!

I cannot wait to pass out candy next Monday night with the husband and puppies. We plan to sit on the front porch, eat halloween cupcakes, enjoy the (hopefully) nice weather and mingle with our neighbors. While I know Wade will not be dressing up, I plan to just wear these cat ears and the puppy brothers are planning on dressing alike in their peacock costumes from Target. Happy Halloween!
